1. What we collect
We collect information you provide when you sign up (name, email, phone, county, role), information about listings and transactions you make, and standard technical information such as your device, browser and IP address.
2. How we use your information
We use it to operate the marketplace, match buyers with sellers, process M-Pesa escrow payments, prevent fraud, comply with Kenyan law (including the Data Protection Act, 2019), and improve our service.
3. Who we share it with
We share data with Safaricom (for M-Pesa payments), our cloud hosting provider, and law enforcement when legally required. We never sell your personal information.
4. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. Contact us to exercise these rights.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active, and transaction records for up to 7 years as required by Kenyan tax and financial regulations.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption and access controls. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
